So the event came and went last week, causing stress, chaos but more importantly such a sense of community and positivity in just one room. Over 100 people filed into Mercury Lounge on Wednesday, December 14th to attend the event I helped organize with the Ottawa International Film Festival. I also curated the music videos to be screened- which was a lot of fun AND putting my film degree to use.
I was invited to talk on CBC Radio 1′s All in a Day with Alan Neil about the event. Alan also hosted and it was a huge success.
I’ve been booking concerts for almost ten years and working within the arts scene for just as long, but honestly, seeing all of the audience members enjoying themselves, and just being wow’ed by the live performers and videos was a huge source of pride. I did it. It’s amazing how many doors have been opened based on my genuine interest in promoting the local arts community. Everything in organizing the show was almost second nature since I HAVE been doing this for so long. CBC please take note 
Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I said thank you so much. And we raised over $250 for the Ottawa Food Bank!

I’m listening to this album right now, and it’s easily a contender for best album of 2011 for me. I ALMOST went to New York City just to see them in the Fall. I’m thinking of changing that so I can go again in January. Enjoy!
