Well hello everyone! Here’s an update that’s not just links to published articles- howza bo’dat?? After the success of Rock Lotto (we raised about $1,600 for the Ottawa Food Bank!!) I took a bit of a break for a week. There’s been some transitional stuff going on in my personal and professional life that’s been going on, e.g. I’ve got a new column for Metro! (Yay!). I can’t announce what it is yet, but it’s arts related. Xtra! is picking up again as the summer begins, also known as “Festival Season.” Living in Chinatown/Little Italy here, there’s literally going to be parades up and down my street this weekend. In the meantime, I definitely hit up Ottawa Explosion for some punk rock earlier this week. But I ran away to a cottage in Quebec last weekend instead of attending Wesfest but have already got the summer planned with Osheaga, a trip to NYC for a week and Ottawa International Film Festival, along with dozen other work-related ones like Folk Fest and Pride Fest.
I’ve also taken on a social-media contract to begin later this week with the Ottawa Anglican Diocese that I’m quite excited to start working on.
There’s some really big opportunities career-wise that have required some serious prioritizing in order to reach my career goals. e.g. I started editing my fiction book again but am getting inspired with each idol of mine visiting Ottawa (filmmaker Kevin Smith in August and Henry Rollins on Wednesday). So to end, thanks for reading this non-article post and keep smiling!
