I’ve been an avid CBC Radio 3 listener since the site was launched in 2005 and have been pitching stories since last Winter. This past June my pitch, “How to get into concerts for Free” was picked up basically beginning a major career goal. (Check the “Radio” section of the site for more info.)
I learned SO much about recording, editing, producing, writing and researching radio documentaries in the last four weeks. I camped out at a friend’s place who had the right software and had a crash course in audio editing on Adobe Audition. Saying, “For CBC Radio 3, I’m Samantha Everts,” provided a little bit too much excitement. I just really hope it’s only a hint of what’s to come!
I can’t wait to pitch again … but I’ll be taking a week just to cool off though. (and go to Osheaga Festival in Montreal!)
