Local songstress Kathleen Edwards was on Letterman on January 17th and rocked it with a song that’s a close contender for sexiest lyrics of 2011. Love seeing Ottawa musicians doing well on the international scene.
My favourite local lady is still Alanis Morrisette though. She’s someone I would LOVE to interview or just have a talk over coffee with. I’m so inspired by her, her career and life choices, yet have NEVER seen her perform. It’s amazing how some artists’ music sticks with you from such a young age. I definitely didn’t understand her angst in Jagged Little Pill in 1996, but damn girl, do I get it now.
