Samantha Everts is an Ottawa-Ontario based writer and journalist. With an English & Film Studies BA Honours degree in 2009 from Carleton University and University of Nottingham (UK) in 2008 and diploma in Liberal Arts Studies from Heritage College in 2004 (Quebec), she is passionate about the written word. She is currently at work editing Marty McFly, her coming of age novel of a young man in the Canadian indie-rock scene. *Grant updates coming!

She self-published her first book of poetry, ‘Somerset Street and Love’ in 2009. Her work has been read internationally in American Music Press, and The Mic Magazine (UK).
In addition to personal or social and cultural articles, Samantha is also available for commissioned work and contracts including: copywriting, content writing, social media, technical writing, editing, advertisements and marketing materials.
Samantha has a very strong background in music journalism and has interviewed artists including: Broken Social Scene, Stars, Caribou, Rise Against, Alexisonfire, Minus the Bear, Strike Anywhere and dozens more.
Samantha completed her college dissertation using Cultural Studies, History and Film Analysis disciplines on the Rise and Failure of the London Punk Movement. She presented it to a very receptive audience of 300 in 2004.
